T'sagultorgna Coronation Ceremony

History

Notable Coronations

Kassian Hallia Rosenthorne

The coronation of Kassian Hallia is said to have been the most rushed and sloppiest coronation ceremony in T'sagul's history. Following the assasination of Kassian Talluk, Hallia's older sister, Kassian Korvia, was put on trial, but was left without a proper judge. Traditionally for such high level cases it would be the king himself that oversees the trial, but in this case the king was dead and the first in line to take his place was the suspect to the murder. Thus, the Counsel of King's turned to the second in line Kassian Hallia.

This was also controversial as it was the first coronation of T'saguls first true female king. All prevous women who ruled as king held the position temporarily in place of their husbands. An alternative proposed by the counsel was to have one of their older sons quickly marry the princess in order for them to legally take the place as king so that they could pass judgement. This idea was quickly turned down, however, as very few people wanted to see the princess married to a grown man at the age of ten.

In the end they decided to quickly do the coronation, but ensure that the princess assembled a group of trusted advisors—half of which had to be chosen by the counsel and the other half was chosen by the princess herself.

The ceremony itself was considered the first major disgrace of Hallia's reign. The traditional Sword of Loyalty was rusted and the the Shield of Trust was too heavy for the girl to carry. She also wore the coronation robe which draged all over the unsweeped floor, and to top it all of, the building's north wing was set on fire by Khaltorgna rebels.
