Berez

Berez was once a fishing village in Old Barovia. It was located on the Luna River, with Vallaki several miles up north. It was in ruins already but was one of the towns wiped away with the destruction of Old Barovia in 8008.
After Brother Grigor and Burgomaster Lazlo Ulrich destroyed Marina to prevent her from becoming a vampire, Strahd slew them both and blooded the town using his bond with the land. The area turned into a marsh, preventing its villagers from coming back. Baba Lysaga resided there with her hut and her scarecrows. Baron Ulrich's ghost also once haunted the Ulrich Mansion.
