Manifestation

Leylines manifest primarily as rivers, canyons, atmospheric currents, or other consistent natural phenomena. They are best visualized as underground rivers of magical energy, theorized to be rising from beneath the earth's crust.

Localization

The most pertinent form that leylines take is where they intersect, also called nodes. These intersections form the conditions most conducive to humanoid habitation, especially human ones. The greater the number of intersections or the more volume in the leyline's current, the larger the city. This means more magical power is available to the city, and also that it's more dangerous for those untrained to tap into it, as they can get overwhelmed by the surge of energy.
