Runic magic

The magic the is easiest to learn but the hardest and most dangerous magic to master. Copying basic runes from any source is easy enough, same with memorizing them. The difficulties arise, however, when you start to combine portions of various runes to craft new runes. If one were to combine fragments incorrectly, disastrous consequences will occur.

Manifestation

Most runes pull their power from a pool that is established by a fragment of it. Other runes pull power from their surroundings. The extremes of power levels tend to use this second form of power generation. The weakest runes, such as light enchantments, or the strongest, such as the ones that can generate demiplanes.
