Spell-warped

A Spell-warped is a being that has undergone torturous experiments. Most non-sentient creatures do not survive these experiments, as it breaks their minds causing the power to go haywire. Those who do survive gain a mark, usually change in eye color or scars, and incredible power.

Symptoms

Physical: Either scars, change in eyes, or other obvious physical change such as increased strength or endurance
Mental/Sensory: Changes can include; improved night vision, seeing the Weave, a "danger sense", quickened mental facilities
 Magical: Spell-warped gain minor magical abilities and show up as magical with abilities to detect such things.
