Clan Quicksilver

  One of the five major guilds of City of Ferrus. Clan Quicksilver was once part of the Kingdom of Hammerlake under the dwarven king, Santorino Garcia. Unwilling to rigid laws of the kingdom, a handful of craftsmen, blacksmiths, engineers and an artificer head off south towards the newly founded Ferrus to create their own independent company. Eventually, Clan Quicksilver merged with Clan Aurochs, a nomadic barbarian tribe in an alliance which would provide the craftsmen of Clan Quicksilver with much needed muscle. 

Currently, Clan Quicksilver is in charge of maintaining the walls of the city of Ferrus, its bridges, docks, underworks and sewers, as well as the Steel Gate and Iron Road. They provide 80 percent of raw materials as well, continuing a tumultuous relationship with the remnants of the Hammerlake Dwarves who remained in that region. 

Head Honcho: Ronaldo Sanchez. A no-nonsense dwarf who never wanted the position, but was continually and promoted and elected to be the head administrator for the affairs of the guild.

Structure

Extremely bureaucratic. Red-tape galor. The Head Honcho acts as primary decision maker, but from there, the chain of command gets extremely complicated. There is a department for every thing imaginable, and most projects taken on by the Clan have to be approved by an average of six managers. The most dreaded of these is the licensing office where people apply for business and ship licenses. Sometimes wait times can stretch for several hours before being able to file for the first of five application forms.
