Little Ruru

Older than Blackton, but discovered and seen a year after its founding, Little Ruru was a creature washed up on shore and taken in as a pet by the founding Windmere. However, quickly after being put in containment, it grew to fit the size of its container, and after a series of fiascos and attempts, halted at 40 feet tall, and 70 feet wide. A friendly creature, and one of the novel attractions, it sometimes goes onto land for food. Of course, not being too smart, it might sometimes accidently romp through Blackton for a bit before herded elsewhere, or is fed to its satisfaction. These trips are random, sometimes a few days apart, sometimes weeks, sometimes months, and even years! Nonetheless, the peaceful thing happily waddles along. Every time it's seen since growing to such an enormous size, it has grown again. From a centimeter to an inch and sometimes even more, it now is quite the behemoth. Any attempts to harm it without strict permission result in the death penalty. It has shown sentience resembling that of pigs, as proven that, once every few years, it will make a journey the old site of the original Windmere mansion and play around, sometimes waiting at the old decrepit door for someone to come outside. Sometimes it is seen out at sea, and hosts a colony of different kinds of animals on its back, almost like a tiny island. There are some researchers that have studied it and hypothesized that it predates even the empire, likely longer, and that it's a natural defense to being eaten gone haywire.
