Process (8/21/22)

Putting this out here for prosperity.   It has been a long road up until this point in my professional and creative life. Making something like this is not an overnight process. At this point in time, this is Imperia's fourth iteration. Four complete rewrites and world-ending edits in-universe. Can you imagine writing the same general story four separate times? Sometimes cutting massive swaths of content that you loved, but no longer fit in the universe.   Some people say that writing a book can be incredibly easy, that it can be done in a year if you "just keep working at it." In reality, really working on a narrative that encompasses a part of your identity is terrifying. I want Imperia to be everything I've ever dreamed, Uria and I's masterpiece. So, if that takes my entire life, it'll be worth it.   For anyone out there feeling like this, I hear you. Keep working. Don't be afraid to have fun writing a narrative that encompasses your soul, even if nothing comes of it for a long time.   For me, I'll be finding a simple story that I'll have fun with as my first novel. Imperia will properly shine in time.
