Edgeville (Edge-Vil)
Edgeville is a small town located outside the south western section of Bethos' wall. While Edgeville is not a very large town, many travelers visit it because its close proximity to Bethos.
Demographics
Up until 18 years ago, Edgeville was a small village with a population of no more than 150 people, however, this all changed when a large crack formed in the section of Bethos' wall beside Edgeville. After this, adventurers from all over began traveling through Edgeville on their way to Bethos. These frequent travelers also caused the population of Edgeville to increase rapidly, as many of those who returned from the wall or chose not to enter remained in Edgeville. In modern days, Edgeville has a population of roughly 1500 people and features a multiple businesses that cater towards helping adventures before they enter Bethos.
Government
While Edgeville has its own internal government, it is also under the protection of Bethauna. This external protection is given to Edgeville because Bethaunaian soldiers pass through Edgville anytime they leave or enter Bethos. Bethauna also built an elevator beside Edgeville that people must pay to use if they want to enter Bethos. Although this protection keeps Edgeville safe from bandits, it comes at a cost. Edgeville's internal government is required to pay Bethauna a monthly "courtesy" payment.
Edgeville's internal government consists of one Elder and a few council members who oversee the town. This way of governing the town has remained unchanged since Edgeville was just a small village, however, now that Edgeville is growing in size many citizens have shown interesting in introducing a new form of government.
