Old Man Jorgen's Wagon of Curiosities

A sweet smell fills the air. The cold Winter sun has given way to a warm bathing light. The soft green shoots of Spring begin to cover the ground and the bare branches are dappled with colour once again. A wondrous time of year, marking the end of a struggle and the beginning of a new season. Birth, growth and renewal are the core tenets of the Spring season. Yet, this is not what the people of Loradon look forward to most. For the arrival of Spring also marks the arrival of Old Man Jorgen's Wagon of Curiosities, a local spectacle occurring once a year. All the children of the town rush to the town square fountain, fighting to get a spot upon its low walls, hoping that they might get a first class view of the wonders to be shown. The teenagers and adults, not afraid to show their excitement, rush for their place among the gathering crowd. Even the elderly gain a spring in their step when Old Man Jorgen comes around.   No two appearances ever the same, the Wagon of Curiosities sports a new inventory every cycle. Only requested favourites ever making a second appearance. In true traveler's showmanship, Old Man Jorgen presents each and every item as part of a public show and tell, describing their uses, oddities and price. Never selling lies, or false cures to serious illnesses, Jorgen prefers to stick to the realm of curiosity and entertainment. Notable items over the years include; a talking clock - announcing the time at every hour; a clockwork canary - beautiful and intricate, able to sing songs on command; and even a portable hole - a little space in space able to be carried around and used whenever one pleases.
