Quel'ta

The Quel'ta constitute the majority of eldari people in Terra Rynn. Situated in the shadow of the shield mountains and the evergreen boreal, the Quel'ta maintain a naturalistic lifestyle, and shun most modern technology and discoveries. This archaic lifestyle has made them both a pariah on the national state, but also a beacon of purity for those that have grown distrustful of more developed civilization.   Long ago, their elven ancestors experienced a great betrayal, and were nearly wiped out due to negligence and corruption. In response, the religious and cultural ties that bound the Quel'ta underwent a dramatic shift — several thousand kelta were killed during the superstitious fever that swept through the populace. Many of the refugees fled south, and would become the ancestors of the Sciettish — still others fled east and became subjugated by the Orgol or Turathi and where subsequently bred into those populations.   Centuries later, the Quel'ta have changed very little, eschewing much of the modernization of other civilized nations. They have forsworn their ancestral heritage and religious dogma and adopted a spiritual reverence for the natural world, which has provided for them in the centuries since. With some Quel'ta states beginning to trade with the outer world, the dream of a unified Quel'ta peoples stands at a crossroads.   Summary Starting in the far west of the continent, the loose confederacy of Quel'ta serves as the largest society of Eleiri in Rynn. Colloquially known as Elves, the Quel'ta are the descendants of the migrant Eldari who sought to return to Rynn during the Age of Daemons to aid in the lands defense. Spurned by their ancestors cowardice, the Eleiri were often shunned, and exiled from one one land after the next, before eventually finding refuge in the wild woods of west. Since that time, the Quel'ta have rejected the call of the gods of Rynn, and even expelled 'would-be' adherents - and have instead fought to strengthen their connection to the spirits and the world of Rynn itself.
