Seachd Path

The Seachd Path, or often simply "The Path" is the eldari religion rooted in the mytholigical story of Mysra and her disciples (known collectively as the "Eiriol") during the Age of Heroes. From their exodus out of the Golden Court of Fae, their passage through Terra Duhr, their reemergance into the Esorian Jungles of Rynn, and their long Pilgramage across the Mehanian sea and the wide swath of Kreata, the story of the Seachd Path touches the stories of many ancient histories. Once a ubiquitous religion amongst most Eldari of Rynn, The Path is practiced almost exclusively by Sciettish Elerie.   Its adherents, known as Mysralite's, derive their beliefs from the tenents of the 'Book of the Path', which serves as a history of the most fabled and auspicious events during the time of Mysra and her Disciples. The Disciple Ocura, the "Chronicler" is thought to have been the primary author of many of the books 'first-hand' accounts, though in the generations after, the book as been ammended with a handful of epithets and stories from several critical events in the religions history (among which details the history of the Quel'ta Jihad, and the Second Exodus to Scietti). It is primarily through the Book of the Path that the Mysralites understand the nature of the Eiroel and the sacrements required to request their intercession on their behalf.

History

While there remains some contention regarding the true account of the ancient eldari historians, there are endless interpretive accounts and religious scripture expounding on the subject. Yet, despite the disagreements on the actual events of the past, a few events are generally agreed upon.   Tradition holds that the eldari ancestors were the first mortals gifted with civilization (the concept of gift remains in contention). As the ancestors worked to form a unified community, several leaders rose from among their ranks to guide their children in the traditions and knowledge they had been bestowed from the guardians. For many generations, there was harmony as the leaders helped codify and organize the laws and tradition of their people as their community grew, from one city to another.   Then, the Daemon Wars began, as force of evil began to assault the other mortal civilizations. Yet, as the ancestors were safe, there was disagreement among the leaders on the need to help the other civilizations. A great conflict arose among the ancestors (much speculation about this event), but in the end there stood a defiant leader, Mysra, and her six disciples. Only a quarter of the total leadership of the ancestors, and with only a small following of adherents, the Disciples left their domain to be closer to the other mortals, and aide in their defense.   These defectors were known as the Eiriol, or the "Disciples of the Path".   There names are as follows: Mysra, Kyre, Athannar, Kaelem, Seune, Taeos, and Ocura.   There are several volumes dedicated to the story of Mysra and her disciples as they left their ancient homeland, and travelled the world in their fight against the Daemons. When they first arrived, their followers had no home, so they roamed for ages, as the disciples made alliances, seduced strangers, fought enemies, and gathered stories on the nature of the world. Some of their followers would break off, unable to maintain the faith. Most stayed, however, and those became the Mysraelites. For a time, the Mysraelites made harmony with their new mortal brothers, and defeated the Daemons of corruption. Yet, in the aftermath, they were turned away from the other lands.   Once again, the disciples and their followers were forced to roam in search of a home, and at last they found one on the bleak edge of the world. Claimed by no others, the Mysraelites finally made a home in western Kreata. Their descendents, the elves, would forge a great society, only to have their greatest fears and suspicions tear them apart, casting them to the winds once again.
