The Sapphire Remnant

The Sapphire Remnant, also known as the Remnant, are adherents of a secret revolutionary society devoted to restoring Xianlian to a different type of political rule. According to the Remnant, the castes used to represent co-equal strata of society, each responsible for a different facet, but ultimately bound together by a shared council and ruler ship. They do not reject the idea of Xianlian caste society, in terms of an ancestral obligation for a given role in society, but they strongly object to the weight and influence some castes have over others. Members are often known as shards or splinters.
