Overview
The Language of Stone, the Dwarven Language is a mystery to most. The language is said to be considered sacred by Dwarves and not to be spoken around Non-Dwarves. Some claim that this is due to Dwarven Pride, others state that it is due to the fact that the language is so hard to understand that it can't be taught to other races.
The Truth
The Dwarven language is actually unique in that it was created FROM written script first. The written runic script is said to have been etched into the earth itself, and from these inscribed stones the Dwarven Race appeared.
The 24 Runes of the Kharazad also signify the 24 original 'self-created' Dwarves from which the entire race developed. These Runes formed the basis for the language of the race, and the basis for Runic Magic.
Today the Runescript known as Angerthas Moria has 54 runes within it - these sounds being the core of ANY sounds that one would wish to make in any spoken language. This gives the Dwarven Runes the power to reshape matter itself.
