Skopoi Hoplites Lambda Anapodes

Overview

The Skopoi Hoplites of Anapodes are a form of Special Forces - and the Lambda Legion being even more so. The Lambda Legion are experts in combating Undead. The Legion's status reflects the role of all Legions stationed in the Anapodes area - that of being specialised trouble shooters who are highly skilled in dealing with singular problems.

Composition

The Legion is formed under the trident of the Infantry - indicating the importance of the basics - march on and win, win and march on. It carries a Lambda character on its standard and this is not only to dignify the specialisation of the Legion - that of Death. But also to show that the Legion has a stance in the Underworld - as the Lambda symbol is linked to Underworld  The composition of the company is focused on Undead control with Priests, Paladins and Undead Hunters - variously called Vampire Hunters and Undead Banes making up the most of the Legion's membership.

Current Operations

The Lambda legion spends most of its time dispersed around the Anapodes region seeking out and combating Undead. They also spend a lot of time training locals in Undead combat methods and distributing Undead beating kits - these include garlic, silvered weapons, holy symbols and most importantly holy water.

The legion spends its time in the wilderness more in the southern parts of the Anapodes - and entrance into the Legion can be gained if you have proof of killing Undead of at least six different types.

Bounty License Provision

Many adventurers seeking to travel through the Anapodes first seek out the recruitment offices of the Anapodes Legions - and the Lambda Legion is no exception. Once an oath is made and the paperwork completed, along with a 60gp fee, the Legion will issue a Bounty Hunter License to any character of Non-Evil Alignment to hunt down and destroy undead. Proof of kill is required and this is normally in the form of a digit or some form of essence that is to be collected from each kill.

Awards Given

Once you have gained Bounty Hunter status from the Legion, they will reward each slaying of an Undead creature - paying as many gold pieces as each creature gives Experience Points /10. This bounty on Undead has made Undead hunting for the legion a worth while side-enterprise for many Bounty Hunters.
