The Rhodian Colossus

Overview

The Ancient Colossus stands athwart the Rhodian Isle at the front of the Grand Canal.

It stands between the twin fortresses that guard the canal itself and it's Atlantean Extension. It acts as a huge lighthouse for ships seeking to find the entrance way into the trade harbors of Atlantis.
The Colossus is in fact a huge illusion whereas the real statue stands within it at a height of 1640 feet tall (500 m) and has one leg on each side of the island. It is considered the 'giant brother' of the Atlantean Colossus that stands next to the Harbor of Atlantis itself.

This is one of three Collossi known to have been created in Atlantis, and is one of two that remain complete and functioning.


The Colossus of the Grand Canal is the biggest Colossus and is said to be capable of animation in order to deal with attacks to the Canal's infrastructure. If Animated it is rumored to match a Storm Giant in terms of Strength and abilities. Having been built by King Ampheres, the statue is strongly linked to electrical energies.
