Doughtaticus III, Last of His House
Emperor Doughtaticus III Dragorlan
He is egotistical and incompetent, Julius, you cannot seriously be so naieve to believe that son of yours is fit for the role as your successor. Please, for the love of the Gods, keep me as your Imperial Heir at least until you have groomed Doughtaticus enough into becoming the true Prince to the Throne.

Personal history
Early Life
Throughout his life before becoming the Emperor, Doughtaticus was fed an inflated sense of self and had been extremely egotistical. Since his birth his father, Emperor Julius the Great, had declared Doughtaticus his Imperial Heir no matter what happens in his life. And so, Doughtaticus was raised up into a life of drinking and whoring while his father showed no sign of moving his Imperial Heirage onto Julius' younger and more capable brother, Octavian, being definite that Doughtaticus could still mature into prime Emperor material. In actual fact however, Doughtaticus would always be the opposite of his father. Julius was one of the greatest Emperors the Great Western Empire ever saw, a prolific philosopher and industrialist, an excellent general in the Untamed Lands, and modernised and expanded the Capital double the size of when it was first built under the Golden King's rule. Doughtaticus, however, had a legacy of incompetence and deceit.Grooming of his Father
When Doughtaticus was a young man, Julius took him with him back to the front lines on the Untamed Lands, just a couple miles away from the strategically held Dankatch River. In Julius' mind, the experience and training with the Imperial Legions would make Doughtaticus a true man, warrior and leader. Due to many factors, including Julius' stubbornness or naivety concerning his son and the fact both Julius and Doughtaticus were on the farthest stretches of the GWE, Octavius decided to act against the will of his brother the Emperor. Uniting several noble houses under his claim to the Throne, especially the Empress' own House Farrow of Rumarsh, Octavius declared a civil war. Luckily, Julius and his leading generals devised a plan of splitting the Frontier Legions to quickly put down the unrest in North Dagorland. After an efficient put-down, Octavian was sent into exile to either the Cryptcities or Susros, whatever he chose, as per the decision Doughtaticus made when his father asked him. The fact that Doughtaticus made this final decision led to Octavian have complete and utter contempt towards his nephew and would rather die than see him ascend to the Throne. The First Death of Julius
Some time during the grooming of his child, Julius' health deteriorated sharply from health issues he had suffered his whole life. As the Emperor's health faded over this period, so too did the defence of the Imperial frontier as the Legions sent south to deal with Octavian had not yet returned. As Doughtaticus carries on duel training with a member of the Eagleguard, a mass Barbarian horde managed to push through the Imperial fortifications along the Dankatch River which the GWE had successfully held for over a century. Here, Doughtaticus witnessed the true nature of war, especially after witnessing his Eagleguard - one of the most skilled Knights in the GWE - butchered in a Berzerker's ferocity and almost an entire Legion slaughtered in turn. From here on, Doughtaticus would have no true involvement in war, showing the same signs of PTSD as veteran Legionnaires. When Julius first started to deteriorate, a message was sent down to the Capital to inform the Imperial House what was happening. Along this long route, rumour spread faster than the message and a week before the couriers reached the Capital the truth had become that Julius had died. By the time the truth had reached the ears of the Empress Edana who had fled to the Faar Isles, Julius was back to his full health and both he and Doughtaticus were informed of rumours that Edana, the Archduke of the Faar Isles, and Octavian backed by a Susrosian mercenary force were plotting to take the Throne away from Doughtaticus. However, in truth the Empress had secured the loyalty and protection from the Archduke, the second most powerful man in the GWE, who had promised to use his influence in Doughtaticus' favour. The Archduke and Empress also raised Legions to help in the defence of the Throne from Octavian. Before long, the rumours that the Empress was openly betraying the alive and well Emperor were considered as the truth and she was forced to travel across the entire width of the GWE to her husband and tell him the truth. While the Empress makes her journey, the Emperor answering the request of Earl Roddvig of Skyral sends Roddvig's son Captain Drake Wolfspack west to the Imperial Kingdom of Frostern with the Korg Legion to defend the strategic ports which Octavian might be planning to land on. When the Empress finally reached Julius and Doughtaticus, she cannot seem to sway their opinions with her truth and Julius feels he can do nothing except execute his with. The next noon, Doughtaticus is expected to execute his own mother to prove his training and resolve to finally show he is the true Imperial Heir. During the night however, Doughtaticus, wanting to spend one last night with his mother and mulling over the idea of helping her escape, finds Edana Farrow the Empress of Elgerlia had poisoned herself.
