Revived Speech
Due to Old Script differing in various letters to Common, there has been a mistranslated version of Old Speech being written and spoken amongst nobles that attempt to learn the language. This language is called Revived Speech. For example, the Old Speech for Great Western Empire is Impireal na Siarach and due to the Old Script, in Revived Speech it is spelled Impinel na Ranac.Geographical Distribution
Before the First Dragon Crusade, the Old Speech was the predominant language over the continent of Elgerlia. By the time of the Great Western Empire, the tongue as a first language is almost extinct but small pockets of fluent speakers live in more isolated communities of Elgerlia.
