Dwalur

The essence of luck and wealth, the merchant king, the trickster, the laughing dwarf, the short father

While not everybody appreciated the antics of the always-smililng dwarf Dwalur, his propensity and his acumen for business and conversation cannot be denied. Dwalur established a small fortune during his life by making wise business decisions, haggling and using his charismatic nature, and simply by being several steps ahead of everybody else in the room. He was always accused of playing tricks to get ahead, hence part of his namesake, but many will say that Dwalur was a genius who lost much of the benefit of the doubt because of his lack of modesty. 
All of his flaws aside, his methodology questionable, the results he achieved cannot be questioned. Any doubt that anybody may have had about Dwalur dissipated when he died. Having never married or fathered any children, Dwalur was a lonely man his whole life. When he passed, he left a note in the breastpocket of his cloak, with instructions and a map leading to the location of a hidden safehouse. Inside the house was a door leading to a vault, overflowing with treasure, coin and riches beyond anyone's wildest dreams. The instructions on the note were clear: the fortune was to be evenly divided and given to the families of Dorûnde, lest a curse be placed on whoever disobeyed these instructions. 
His final act of generosity greatly overshadowed any questionable character traits people may have associated with Dwalur. He is regaled as a master of business, and a symbol of generosity.
