The current Queen of Rose is Relia Albefica. She is said to be of the line of the Thunder Stealing Raven, a Demon Prince that is still venerated by the people of Rose. She has ruled for seven years, following her coming of age when she had been crowned. Previously, her father had served as regent following the death of her mother in childbirth. She is fairly popular among the aristocracy of Rose, and renowned for her beauty. For the common people, she is their queen, and she has yet to display any signs of cruelty or bloodthirst as have some of her predecessors (and some of her current Bannerladies and lords).
Yet while she is popular, she has a light hand for governance and some say that she allows her father, her former regent, far too much influence over her than is proper for a reigning queen. Under her watch, there have been more cases of Dream than ever before, which is usually a sign of increased activity of the cult of the Dreamers of the Crystal Mother.
She has already suffered one attempted assassination upon her person, though her sorcery protected her long enough for the Knight of White Roses, a Knight of Stone and Sigil who grew up with her and serves as her bodyguard, to dispatch of the assassins. Since then, the Queen has refused to appear afraid and has only increased how often she is seen among the people, the Knight of White Roses always by her side.
There are always those who say that the blood has run thin, however, and that there are others who have the bloodline of the Thunder Stealing Raven, the Radiant Wing of the Dawn, and the Auspicious Slave of Winds, all prominent noble Rosean bloodlines who would sit well upon the throne.
