Session 12

General Summary

7th Day of Julista, 1762 AC

With the strategy decided for their assault on the abyssal infestation at the fort ruins outside Yornletz the party, using a distraction by Lydia Pureheart set forth into the unknown.
It didnt take long for the group to encounter their first resistence in the fort. After a botched sneak attack, they were beset by a group of cultists, minor demons and a human imbued with abyssal powers. Dirt took the brunt of the damage, but ultimately the group overcame; slaughtering the abyssal aligned entities. On the warlock, they found a strange orange orb, with the faint aroma of ash and sulfer. Later on, they realized it was a key to open a skull door blocking their way deeper into the fort. While searching for the other orb, they found evidence of a skirmish and a bloody summoning room. Eventually they found stairs leading to the basement.
In the basement they encountered another otherwordly entity. This one seemed to revel in debauchery, and had an affinity for Balthazar in particular. But, the group slayed the creature which melted into nothingnesss much like many of the abyssal creatures they had previously defeated. In the space the found the 2nd orb, and a strange book that whispered to Balthazar, and attempted to lead him down a dark path. However, his steady resolve silenced the whispers. Additionally, the group found a couple of the missing villagers.
With the two orbs in hand, the party sought to open the door, and continue their assault upstairs. There they found a large library and a very sassy succubus; Vezzaria. She belittled the party before stating the world was doomed anyway, and waved ta-ta, leaving via a portal in the room. But not before telling her Fallen Knight minion, Timmy, to kill the group. The party overcame Timmy and his demon sidekicks, ending the abyssal threat. Dirt had peered into his mind, seeing the deal Timmy had made to gain his power, and felt considerable pity for him, which was not at all shared with Balth and Sandro. Lydia emerged, destroying the portal, and stating she would take over things from there, including the judgement and punishment of Timmy. The party investigated the remaining rooms finding a mysterious cryptex covered in abyssal writing, and two magical items.

8th Day of Julista, 1762 AC

After closing the loose ends in Yornletz, the group headed back to Port Brunhild, to board the elven boat back to Tor Eylor . Meeting back up with Chief Diplomat Cirieon Vendi , the group passed off the mysterious book that had the symbol of the strange entity known as Eresh emblazed upon it. There Cirieon divulged the truth of Eresh to Balthazar, and warned him that Eresh would likely seek him out.
With another contract completed, their 100% success rate intact, the group left Tor Eylor, returning to Vexlorn
