Session 25

General Summary

25th of Julista

Back in Pruessmount via an The Academy of Arcanium portal; the party decided to seek out the ArchProvost to explain what they had discovered and experienced in Kelso. It took a bit of convincing, but they were eventually led to a older half elf named Armon Silverleaf. The party described what had happened to the town, the Arcanium Cohort, and the monster causing all the issues. Armon thanked the group for their heroism, and provided some further information regarding Neohaergur. He also suggested to Balthazar that the eyes of Eresh might be affixed to him. The party decided to head back to their apartment for much deserved rest.

26th of Julista

Without any pressing tasks in front of them, the party decided to follow up on a couple of lingering things in the city. First, Dirt decided he would seek out the Pugnadomus to continue the training suggested by Reityre, however he needed to find the location. They figured they would have luck at the western docks, and headed on over. As luck would have it, they stumbled upon a flier advertising an upcoming event. Yet, Dirt wanted to swing by the temple of Ilmater, God of Endurance just outside the walls in hamlet called Lakeview.   Before exiting the city, guards warned the party of a plague ravaging the local community. They advised the party not to head into Lakeview unless it was absolutely necessary. The party poked and prodded the guards for more information; obviously looking for any deceit or skullduggery buried beneath the issue. It seemed to them at least something nefarious was afoot, and they immediately distrusted the man overseeing the response to the plague; Constable Tysen Brier. So, they endeavored to head into Lakeview to learn more about the plague and the man in charge of Lakeview.   At the temple they met and spoke with the Revered Father Pontus. After being convinced the party was interested in helping the situation, he shared some of his speculations about the plague. First, he believed it to not be natural, and more than likely, manufactured. Next, he theorized it was connected to the groundwater (hence why is wasn’t affecting Pruessmont) and it might be sourced to the city sewer. Convinced, the party offered to explore the sewers and hopefully uncover the source.   The sewer system was quite large and robust, and the party had to trek deep into bowels for any hint of the source. Eventually in a large cistern, they encountered an aberration who was convinced Sandro was a tasty meal. A nasty battle commenced; and it was apparent to the party the monster was a shit demon. Sandro had a terrible time, but a timely strike by Dirt struck down monster, saving Sandro from becoming a tapa's plate. As the monster was struck down, an unseen cry rung out from further down the sewers and the party had their next target.
