Akmon, God of the Sun & Nobility (ACK-mawn)
The Stern Lord, The Unfeeling, The Blinding Light
Portfolio
Akmon is the god of the sun, aristocracy, and rulership, but he is also the patron of slavery and oppression. Might makes right, or so Akmon believes. The phrase “everything the light touches is my domain” is particularly appropriate. Akmon believes that the undead are abominations that must be destroyed at earliest opportunity. Akmon’s belief in the law is absolute. What is legal is always correct in his eyes, no matter how oppressive or cruel. Akmon cares little for the suffering of others. People are there to be used and ruled over.Depiction
Akmon is typically depicted as a tall, handsome, imposing human or elven man with golden hair and a haughty expression, wearing either golden armor or gold and white robes. Akmon's portrayal in myth is... complicated at the best of times. To his followers, Akmon is shown as a kind, benevolent father figure, blessing his faithful with light and warmth. To others, especially in those legends told by the churches of Sephira, Nicodemus, and Elowyn, Akmon is a cunning, calculating villain, a master of manipulation and using the rules to get what he wants. No matter the depiction, however, Akmon is always charming and clever, and even his followers know that his wrath is something to be feared.Relationships
Akmon is brother to Loreali, and father to Eosphorus. Akmon’s relationships with the other gods are... strained at best. While some of the pantheon have relatively neutral dealings with him, Akmon is particularly loathed by Sephira, Nicodemus, Kallias, Elowyn, and Eosphorus, due to his constant hunting of Sephira and his murder of Elowyn.Symbols
Akmon’s holy symbol is a golden orb with three beams of light from the top, three from the bottom Akmon’s colors are gold and white Akmon’s favored weapon is the trident Among Akmon’s other symbols are suns, crowns, and peacocks
