Barasios is the god of bureaucracy, contracts, business, oaths, and punishment. He is in charge of punishing the wicked in the afterlife. Barasios believes that the law is a weapon. Oaths and contracts are binding and powerful. Barasios does not revel in evil deeds, but as the god of punishment, he understands that evil must sometimes be done in the name of greater good.Depiction
Barasios is most frequently depicted as a tiefling or goliath man, wearing decadent robes of crimson and black silk, usually with a glass of wine and a scroll. Barasios is the consummate businessman, always trying to get the best contract, the best deal. He is known to be silver-tongued, a tempter, and an absolute master of loopholes and double-speak. However, he is also unfailingly fair and is said to refuse to offer contracts to those good of heart. He is known to be well-mannered, charismatic, and even-tempered.Relationships
Barasios is brother to Rhemnys and Caelus. Barasios is respected by the other deities, even if he usually stands apart from them. The exception is Peitho; she and Barasios despise each other with a passion due to Peitho's rejection of his offer of marriage.Symbols
