Game Structure

Pre-Game ST Assignment

ST Assignment per character will be for the purpose of handling paperwork, personal plot, downtimes, etc.

Pre-Game Party Formation

Characters are welcome to make background ties pre game.   Pre-game launch, there will be opportunities to make background connections and pre-form party structures. Individual parties will be 4-5 characters, but do not need to be the classic “healer, tank, DPS” structure.

Post Game Start Party Formation

Once game starts, party formation will more or less up to RP and player choice as characters die, get retired, etc.   Party level plots will be based on the composition of the party, such as more traditional dungeon adventures for traditional composition or more ‘heist’ style plots for parties of predominantly rogue or stealthy characters.   It is expected that there will be some “wobble” in the party structure during play as characters join, retire, guest star, etc. As always, Meta for RP.

Guest Starring / Party Hopping

Characters can be in multiple parties/groups at their whim and the tolerance of their schedule and the other players involved.   Players not in a group may always “guest star” with a group if they happen to be around, but should realize that plots may not be tailored for them. In this fashion, they can sub in if a player cannot make the game night.   Parties are always able to hire a one off adventurer PC in character to round out any missing skillsets for a given adventure.

The Jobs Board

The Jobs board will be where storytellers, narrators, and characters can post out looking for groups, work, jobs, etc.   Expectation:
Players will manage their plot sign ups in order to not overcommit. A player or party will need Storyteller approval to take a new personal or party plot if they already have one   City plots are open access nights.

Staff Structure

Your storyteller staff is split into two levels: narrators and storytellers.   A narrator has been given authority by the storytellers to run plots for players. These can be specific plots, or can be plots written by the narrator with approval from the storytellers. They cannot change rules as written, but may make rules calls during the scenes that they run. They do not have the authority to change the setting without approval from the storyteller staff, but may add to it.   A storyteller has full authority to change rules, make house rules, and to make updates to the setting as needed. This is done with discussion among the storyteller staff on a regular basis.

Social Events

Written by: Anyone / Run In Character   Scheduled: As needed   Scope: Scene Specific (nobles balls, guild meetings, parties, etc)

Personal Plot

Written by: Storytellers and/or Narrators   Scheduled: On an individual basis between ST and Player   Scope: Small scale adventures, scenes, etc. for one to two characters.   Notes: Personal plot progresses at the speed of the player - they are the star of the show

Party Plot

Written by: Narrators   Scheduled: As needed for the plot   Scope: Personal Plotlines for a party of 4-5 characters.   Notes: Party plot advances at the speed of the party. The storyline cannot be “soloed” by a more active player. The majority of plots will be on scheduled “party game nights”.

City Plot and Meta Plot

Written By: Storytellers   Scheduled: Once a month per Storyteller   Scope Variable size adventures that advance the main or city quests and open to all   Notes: Plot will be tailored to the number of players who show up, but there is a meta expectation to split into groups for mechanics balancing.

Scheduling

Storytellers: In general, one Saturday a month for game nights and as-needed per other plots   Narrators: One weeknight a month per party plotline and as needed per other plots as assigned
