An Igor by Any Other Timeline Would be Just as Weird.
Igor didn't really notice the first few interstitial memories that leaked through, more bodies, more sewing, more Gorathian abominations what was really that different? Other Igor had gone into the family business of working for the inventors a little too over the line of madness while still a certain kind of genius. This Igor had leaned more into Necromancy than healing and being a general nuisance. Sure they were a little lonelier, working for the Mad in wartime keeps one busy though.
"Igor! I need more corpses, go check the farms again." The artificer of dead flesh and metal called out in the middle of assembling yet another beast of war.
"Yeth Mathter." Igor said sullenly for an Igor and took off into the night. This Igor stared up at the stars of Vesten not Eisen, working to keep Ruskovich at bay, the flesh and metal abominations powered by artifice, necromancy, and of course cheese and confection.
Igor makes their way out of the deep woods and trudges through the snow to a few different farms, spreading the materials runs around to seem more like a harmless weirdo topping off for the other side of winter. The family lessons had always served Igors well in avoiding the torches and pitchforks just moments before they arrived. Several purchases later and they returned to the Master with more materials for the newest creation. A montage of cutting sewing and welding passes as Igor and the Master assemble the newest in Gorathian war machines, it ends of course in a near perfect recreation of the creation of the creature in Frankenstein including a madly shouted "It's ALIVE! ALLIIIIVVVEEE!!!" There is a loud almost metallic "HONK!" from five heads as the meat and metal Honkdra rises from the slab and takes flight.
Falling Apart
*Igor staggered into the Temple after staggering home from the meeting in The Vault. A few of the night owls stop and stare at Igor's tattered and singed clothing, they sit down giving a noncommittal answer. Someone gets up to go get Heinz and the rest of them offer cheese and an ear. Igor stares eating by rote more than anything until they feel a wet nose poke at the hand sitting in their lap. The gentle nudge of Heinz saying* "I'm here, you're ok." *breaks the damn and tears finally fall where none would before. *
The tears fall for several minutes before Igor finally speaks. "We were called to help figure out why people couldn't thee patht a thertain point of today. The anthwer turned out to be dragonth. They dethtroyed partth of the dockth and killed tho many people. I almotht lotht my friendth today, technically did with a few." *Igor blows their nose on a handkerchief making an unintentional honking noise* "We'll have a lot to do tomorrow, I want to be there for whatever effort we help organithe. I refuthe to give up." *Igor quiets downs some and settles in, word having spread that one of their own needs someone to spend time with them many of the regulars sit with Igor and Heinz, watching over the strange cleric as they eventually drift off to sleep*
Night Wandering
Igor had planned on staying in that night with a book. Ever since encountering the spilled wild magic at Celedor's they had been fascinated with the manifestations of the Mad God themself, hoping to learn how one created them without being a archmage. Rumor around the Temple was you were either born into it or sometimes Gorath blessed people with the ability, why was still a mystery. They had settled in to read when some feeling telling them to go wandering through the night for someone down on there luck hit. Igor had packed their healer's kit and set off into the night looking for the poor bastard down enough on their luck to need an Igor.
They were still surprised by what they had found, a masked figure that knew their name bloodied and broken on the cobblestones. Sometimes the Cackling Tempest had a funny sense of humor, sending them to comfort a fallen friend having a crisis. They had meant every word said to Maelie that night. Even the promise not to tell Cardinal about the rooftop accident, especially that promise. Igor had begun to view the two of them as some weird extension of family by now and they would be damned if someone hunting their people took them from Igor. They had been busy with Temple business lately but hoped to attend more social events, for once besides crewmates Igor finally started to realize they might just have some friends in this city and this time they were going to actually try to reciprocate rather than keep people at a distance.
