Middle Class Social Clubs

Social clubs for the middle class focus less on providing a home for its members and more on fostering connections between people of similar interests. These can range from hobbies such as reading, gambling, or sewing, to occupational clubs for members of the same office, military standing, or artistic pursuit, to charitable societies and political groups working for the betterment of the people of Novandria.   Membership in a social club of this type can vary. In some cases, it is simply a matter of proving one belongs to the demographic of the club’s existing membership; in others, one may have to have member sponsorship or pay an application fee outside of the annual dues.   Many clubs feature a dining room for members, a library, social areas for gaming, reading, or conversation, and some guest rooms and baths. Depending on the club’s area of focus, more specialized areas are also common; a charitable society dedicated to producing potions for the poor would have a crafting room, for example, while a military association may have an armory and rooms for training.
