Morwen, God of Creation & Destruction (MORE-win)

The Dragon at the End of the World, The End of All Things, He Who Waits in Darkness, The Forgotten One, The Master of Despair

Portfolio

Morwen is the creator deity, the god of creation and destruction. He is the god of nightmares, doom, entropy, and despair   Law and anarchy, the need for mercy and justice -- none of this can maintain in the face of ultimate destruction

Depiction

Morwen is depicted as either a huge black dragon or as a shadowed figure in a cage or wrapped in chains. His face is never shown, except for baleful black eyes, dark within darkness   Morwen is a cold and bitter god; eons of being trapped in his prison have left him fixated on destruction and vengeance, and he ever yearns to escape from his cage to destroy the universe as he has always intended. Although he cannot reach out of his cage, it is said that all nightmares and despair spawn from the Dragon at the End of the World.

Relationships

Morwen could be considered the father of all the gods, as he is the creator of the universe, but he does not see himself as such. He claims Tanith as his sister, while he is husband to Kelesta, father of Nicodemus and Sephira, and grandfather to Kallias   Morwen has spent millennia alone, with only occasional visits from his kin. This has left him with a deep and abiding bitterness towards the other gods. The only exceptions to this are Elowyn, who has made a point of traveling to Morwen’s cage and spending time with him, despite her newness as a deity, and Peitho, who often visits her father in his prison, bringing him treats and entertainment and news; he has a quiet love for both goddesses. However, this is turned to deep, deep malice towards both Nicodemus and Kallias, although Morwen's reasons for hating the two gods is unknown.

Symbols

Morwen’s holy symbol is a black dragon hand behind the bars of a cage   Morwen’s colors are black and deepest purple   Morwen’s favored weapon is the spiked chain   Among Morwen’s other symbols are chains, bars, dragons, and salt
