Personal history
Siveril has forever been a creature betwixt and between. Born of an Elven father and a Human mother in Montaigne, he was never fully comfortable in either world. He found his escape in the arts. His heritage showed itself in his music, and it became his ticket to the world.
The bard found himself performing for a handsome Eisen noble, Lord Elliot Rodan and his bride, Lady Elisabeth Rodan. Enraptured by Siveril's ability, the pair offered him a place as a retainer. Siveril found himself smitten with the handsome noble, even knowing nothing could come of it. As fate would have it, tragedy and opportunity came two years later. Lady Rodan had a difficult pregnancy and did not survive the birth of her twin children. The happy home was blanketed in grief with the exception of these two bright notes.
Silveril did his best to ensure the children were not overcome by their father's grief and raised their spirits with song. They came to love him, and though it had not been his intent, so too did their father. It was a scandal to be sure, even for Eisen, but they weathered it and in time the ton moved onto new scandals. Lord Rodan proposed in time, Siveril found himself married into the noble family, writing scores to entertain the Ton, stepfather to two young children, a reluctant noble, and yet happier than he had ever imagined himself being. He was not truly one of the ton, but he learned to navigate life as a noble.
Lord Rodan passed quite suddenly after falling from his mount in a storm when the children were but 10 human years old. Suddenly Siveril was raising two young nobles and was responsible for keeping them from losing their own social standing until they were old enough to be married. So, the reluctant noble forced himself to become an active player in the game for the sake of his children. It has been eight years since that day. He means to marry them off well, and once they no longer need him, to return to his life of bardic wandering.
The family's fortune is not what it once was, however. While far from ruined, they would do well with an infusion of funds. If an opportunity for adventure should arise that would accomplish that, Siveril could be easily persuaded to take a calculated risk.
