The Amalgamated Transportation Union
Trains, wagons, cable cars, airships
The Union supports workers in various transportation industries -- trains, wagons, cable cars, airships, and the like. The exception is marine transport, which falls solely under the Mariners’ Guild.
Structure
Guildmaster
The head of the Union is a goliath by the name of Malakai Silverstone. Malakai’s family has worked in transportation for generations, and have spread out into all of the various methods of movement. Malakai himself worked as a train engineer for a couple of decades before settling into the Guildmaster position.
Guild Representative
Marissa Silverstone-Collins, Malakai’s sister, is the current guild representative. Her passion lies with the growing airship industry, and when not working with the Council of Guilds, she enjoys visiting various inventors to see what new advancements they have made to the ships.
Guild Administrator
The guild administrator is Shoshay Greene, a centaur retired from the overland division of the Union. Shoshay spent many a long year managing wagon caravans across Europa, defending them from bandits and ensuring that they arrived safely. Too old now to make such long journeys, Shoshay still works to plot the best and safest ways across the terrain for caravans to use.
Guild Structure and Ranks
Apprentice: Apprentices are expected to take the most menial jobs in the guild -- moving packages and crates, caring for pack animals, fueling elemental engines, and the like. Apprentices will accompany a long voyage, acting as labor and support for their superiors. After a couple of years, a Master will pair their apprentice with one of their journeyers, allowing the apprentice to begin studying in one of the more advanced careers. Journeyer: Journeyer Union members serve as conductors, pilots, mechanics, engineers, drivers, dispatchers -- the most needed jobs in the business of transporting goods and people. Work tends to be fairly specialized, and journeyers will usually stick with their preferred paths for the majority of their careers. Master: Masters in the Union tend to take more supervisory roles as caravan leaders, logistics officers, route planners, or else as managers of teams of journeyers in a specific occupation. Mastery Exam: Union Mastery exams involve successfully accomplishing a cross-Europa voyage of some variety, organizing cargo, travel routes, and workers.Culture
The Union is incredibly lax about enforcing propriety. Members work long, hard hours, and everyone tends to toil the same. Most Journeyers and Masters are not afraid or embarrassed to perform work supposedly “beneath” them; if work needs doing, there’s no shame in everyone pitching in to get it done. Masters and Journeyers tend to treat their subordinates as family, as well.

The lobby is much better organized. Old dark woods floors that are well maintained. Dark green wall paper outlines large map murals or murals of different forms of transportation. Along the back wall is a number of people working behind a counter that similar to bank tellers. The signs clearly indicate the different focus of different people, such as shipping, receiving, and guild membership. The place seems to be well organized. Past the counter can be seen offices and a few conference rooms. The latter is likely for important clients.
Guild Symbols
Due to the intensity of their work, most Union members choose to wear only a small pin with the wheel symbol of the guild -- copper for apprentices, silver for journeyers, and gold for Masters -- on their hats or collars. A large number of members choose to get the wheel tattooed on them somewhere instead.Guild House Description
The Novandria Union guild house is located near the freight train depot. It is a sort of rambling building, with lots of bunks and rooms for union members, a dining room that runs at all times, baths, and a huge underground library of maps, trade routes, and shipping logs. The lobby is much better organized. The Union is responsible for the transportation of goods and people across Eisen. The Union oversees trade routes, shipping and travel schedules, safety regulations, and the introduction of new technologies within land and air transport.
Assets
The Union owns many of the vehicles used for transportation in Eisen. In addition, while the guild is not particularly wealthy, they have full knowledge of how much Eisen’s economy depends on their services.
History
The Union originally only encompassed the shipping of goods across land with wagons. Over time and with the invention of new technologies, they have expanded their purview to include trains and airships.
