Apprentice: Bar apprentices are called aides, and are not allowed to take lead on a case until their seventh year of apprenticeship   Journeyer: Journeyers in the Bar are known as solicitors, and are expected to travel frequently, practicing every aspect of the trade   Master: Masters are called Counselors, and are allowed to pick a specialty in which to work   Mastery Exam: Mastery in the Bar is extremely difficult to achieve, and many members choose to become adept journeyers under established Counselors instead. Journeyers must win no less than five cases before even being allowed to petition for Mastery status. The Barrister’s Mastery exam consists of an established Master, within the same field of specialty that the applicant wishes to pursue, sitting second chair to the applicant for an entire year, judging their technique and skill
