Extraplanar History
An extraplanar race is one that is not native to the material plane (the normal world where most Terranon adventures take place), but originates on another plane of existence. Most of them came through portals between the planes and found themselves stuck here. Over time they intermingled with the other races and most Extraplanar beings today are descendants of beings that came from other planes.
Extraplanar Culture
Unlike some of the other races the Extraplanar don’t have any common events that all of them put on together. However there are some notable things that individual Extraplanar groups do.
In order to help their relationships the Aasimar have taken to attending the regular flights that the Avians host. A few have taken to offering short flights to children to further gain goodwill.
Each fall before the waters start to get too cold, the Triton perform the Great Harvest. They collected a number of different sea life and brought it to Eisen shore for a large beach bake. Traditionally the event starts at the first first light and ends in the late evening. All who come during the Great Harvest are welcome and fed.
“Come Fight Me” is a tradition of the Githanki. A Githanki will prepare themselves for battle and go to stand in a field. They will then take on all challengers, generally to the first touch or first blood due to city regulations. In order to properly keep order, Novandria created a special permit for these fights. The permit costs 5 silver, and requires someone skilled in medicine to be in attendance. Several other Eisen cities have now created similar permits.
Beliefs
The Extraplanar do not follow any specific gods. Though they do tend to follow regional preferred gods.
Extraplanar in Eisen
There is no central organization of the Extraplanar beings. Today they generally get along as much as any race does.
Some of the Extraplanar races are not recognized as Citizens of Eisen, and instead considered foreigners. In the last few years some social groups have started advocating for them to become citizens.
The Aasimar of Eisen are generally well respected. Recently they have become heavily involved in the new Airship technology and the first Naval Airship Captain was an Aasimar. They can have citizenship in Eisen.
Genasi are found in many roles in Eisen, from foraging to harbor patrol, but many Genasi are poor. A few, like Zeff, the ama’il guildmaster of The Most Noble Society of Bardic and Performing Artisans, have made their way into power, and use that power to push for Genasi rights. To many Eisenfolk, Genasi are strange people that are remotely related to the new Eletech devices. By Law, they may not be citizens in Eisen.
Githyanki were trained to be warriors prior to coming to this realm and many still follow that path. There are very few Githyanki in Eisen and those that are generally belong to the military or mercenary companies. In the last few centuries the majority of the Githyanki have given up their pillaging and raiding ways, but there are still old grudges held by some. They have even come to find an uneasy peace with the Githzerai. They can have citizenship in Eisen.
Where the Githyanki are well known for being warriors, Githzerai tend to focus on their minds. There are few of them in Eisen and they mainly fill roles as advisors, scholars, and tacticians. They were required to make peace with Githyanki in order to gain their right to citizenship.
Tieflings in Eisen are divine counterparts to their Aasimar brethren. To many Eisenfolk, there’s no difference between an Aasimar of Akmon and a Tiefling of Eosphorus. The only difference between them is who their divine relative served, if it’s even known.
Most of the Triton in Eisen live along the coastal Islands or beyond. Seeing them inland is an uncommon thing except when they come to shore to trade. They have created small communities in the oceans which generally are ignored by the Eisen. Recently there has been an increase in their presence due to some social clubs attempting to advocate for them to gain citizenship. By Law, they may not be citizens in Eisen.
Of the Extraplanar races, the Vedalken have gained the most respect and acceptance in the last decades due to their innate skills with Eletech. They are often hired as research assistants on projects. They can have citizenship in Eisen.
