General Takahashi
Military Governor of Shimamoto Katashi Takahashi
Leader of Shimamoto and Operation Overture.
Full name: Katashi Takahashi
Katashi: From Japanese 堅 (katashi) meaning “hard, firm” or other kanji and kanji combinations which are pronounced the same way.
Takahashi Written: 高橋
Meaning: “Tall/high” 高 and “bridge” 橋 suggests that perhaps the families who originally chose this name lived in an area beyond a deep valley crossed by long bridge. There again maybe they were going for something a little more symbolic rather than literal?
His father was one of the men chiefly responsible for the construction of Shimamoto, and so he grew up learning nearly everything there is to know about the fortress-city. His father disappeared into the wilderness in Katashi’s early 20s. Now in his late 30s, finding what happened to his father is a more personal reason to be on the expedition.
His father started as an exceptionally gifted commoner, so he has no illusions about the innate supremacy of nobles.
