Discovery
It was discovered when a shipment that was thought just to be adamantine was attacked by a group of bandits. The crates were caught up in a magical attack and started to float.
Everyday use
Aerites most common usage is to make airships float. Other than that it is used to make floating wheelbarrows.
Refinement
It needs to be treated with a strong acid. Then have magic poured into it to get it to float.
