Magic

The Magic rules of Genesys are slightly altered by the Realms of Terrinoth book, adding two new Magical Skills: Runes and Verse. Several books have been published since then, and some have Magic rules, spells, and talents that we will be using. Further, we are adding in several other Foundry supplements that will have new rules, spells, talents, magic items, tools, and equipment. All of that is detailed in this category.

The Magic System of Genesys is built along a freeform, build-a-spell style, but some of the releases add a whole slew of "spells" that are just recipes for how to make certain actions. Both will be in use. If this seems confusing, that's because it is. In addition, I will be adding new talents of my own creation that mimic the Career Special Abilities of certain careers from Trades of Terrinoth by Chris Markham. I highly recommend the author, I make use of a ton of his works.

To wrap up and simplify: Our World now goes beyond the core materials. Self-taught Mages in the Wild, and all those like them who did not learn through formal study should use the free-form magic system. Those taught Magic in an academic setting will have access to the Spells in each category in addition to the less-structured system.
