Changeling

Changelings can all trace their lineage back to the Witch of the Black Veil. They often have sharp claws, hair which can move as any other appendage, and innate magical abilities. They are exclusively female. It is said in the North the Witch of the Black Veil made it so her daughters could only birth females. In the south it is said the Witches of the north cull any male children immediately upon birth. 
Changelings have a variety of abilities depending on their lineage from the Witch of the Black Veil. Slag Mays are known for their ferocious claw attacks, while Veil Mays are known for their ability to shed their skin to turn into another person at will. 
Changelings are typically distrusted in the North, except for Novgor, and would do best to keep their identities hidden. In the south they are outright shunned.
