While most are quick to write off Mournshire as simply just under the rule of Treehold, in truth the Halflings and Harengon are perhaps as far from Torlanders as one could imagine. Ervon Wisefoot is the current ruler of Mournshire, and has maintained the strange relationship Mournshire has with Treehold. In fact it has actually improved, with the Halfling milltia of Mournshire has been working closely with Treehold in the civil war. Thanks to the agricultural backing of Mournshire, it has basically been able to heavily bolster Treehold's already expansive aggricultural industry. While some Torlanders grumble that the Halflings have been "too" independent of late, in truth Myra of Lawrence and the other nobles of Torland have realized that Mournshire is a far better ally than subject. THis is thanks to the quick thinking of Ervon Wisefoot, who has displayed a shockingly keen political mind as opposed to some of the more lax rulers of Mournshire in the past. Ervon Ascended to rulership thanks in part to winning a famous pie eating contest in the land of Mournshire, which allowed him to gain populairity big enough to be elected Elder. Though some laugh at the idea of a skiled diplomat being a halfling, it would be wise not to underestimate Ervon, as many of his political rivals have a bad habbit of having...accidents.
