The Legion of the Violet Rhino

When Treehold has to defend itself, the Legion of the Violet Rhino head the call under glittering banners and armors elbazoned in regal purple. The founding of their order lies in the first crusade launched by the young Church of the Flame, earning its name from a great beast that their founder hunted in Carall. Taking inspiration from the beast for its bravery and fearlessness, he brought it back where soon after the knight legions were established, and he was made leader of the order. He dubbed them his Violet Rhinos, and since than the legion has grown into a prideful and fierce warrior order. Only the high born may join their ranks, for to done the beautfiul color of purple is to display nobility, and as such the legion is smaller than other Ashenfeld Legions. However, they make up for it with their fierce loyalty to Treehold, and have seen to its defense against all maner of beasts and foes. They charge atop steeds with horns fashioned upon barding, and much of their armor makes use of horns and other such refrences to their namesake.   The Legion of the Violet Rhino has always fashioned itself as noble defenders of the southern most area of Ashenfeld, making them an arrogant legion but one that can back up said arrogance. Since the start of the civil war, Duchess Myra has gotten in good graces with the legion, as she has helped rouse them from just mere defenders into conqueroring warriors and heroes. However like many legions, some whisper if the delicate web of noble politics could one day see Myra of Lawrence cast down, and the Legion of the Violet Beast in charge of Torland.

Composition

Structure

The Leader of the legion is one Lady Elzabeth Palmer, said to be appointed by Duchess Myra herself. Under her is her council, however under this are also nobles of the land surrounding Treehold who advise and take part in military campaigns. This is due to how the nobles are very much interested in making sure their "investments and titles" are protected at all times. This can become a hiderance as the fathomless web of noble intrigue can make even planning campaigns a hassle.

Logistics

Recruitment

The Knights of the Violet Rhino exclusively recruit from nobility, declaring that peasants are not fit to join their legion. As such they simply request levy troops from local forces to accompany them in battle to bulk up their number
