Hora's Wake

Guilds and Factions

While it is no longer lived in, Hora's Wake is one of the bases for the vigilante group Desert Striders. Considered to be a hostile organization by the Union, they have yet to be caught even with a definite base of operations. While there have been claims that the base is a decoy or has long been abandoned, Union officials have refused to stop their investigation without further evidence.

History

Once a quaint and peaceful village off the coast of Arrinueraga, Calvary was home to a variety of seabird were-kin and desert faring Chimedae. The village was the first to popularize salt fishing, and often crafted trinkets and tools from the special crystals in the lakebed.   Calvary was destroyed by a massive tidal wave caused by Salt City's third expansion. Of the 14,000 residents that lived in the village at the time, 2,062 survived the disaster, most of which were sky faring were-kin. In the wake of the event the village was renamed to Hora's Wake after the wall that destroyed it.

Tourism

What remains of Hora's Wake is mostly submerged several miles from the coast. However if one were to take the time to visit the ruins, they'd find a beautiful sandstone cathedral just barely protruding from the salty waters. During days with low tide, it is possible to explore the upper floors of taller buildings. While most interesting items have either been taken or lost to the lake, sometimes tourists will find the salt encrusted remains of personal belongings or people.

Geography

Previously situated on the coast of the Arrinueraga salt lake, Calvary boasted it's idyllic sunrises that would reflect off of the salty seas. As a village on the coast of Teruna's second saltiest lake, instead of a perfect coast the beaches were lined with rows of jagged salt crystals.
