Death Dealers

The fighting order of The Final Word is terrifying to those who see them. One part priest, one part sailor, one part assassin and one part necromancer. The Death Dealers are the most dangerous of a dangerous people.
The Dealers are distinctive by their black longcoats that fit snugly around their necks and flair out around their knees and typically fight with two weapons.
Despite their name, the Death Dealers hate fighting. They avoid engaging in combat until they have no alternative. Which is what makes them dangerous. They seek to finish a fight as fast and as finally as possible.

When the Death Dealers were first formed, they were undercover ambassadors to other nations. On the surface the sought diplomatic relations with other nations, but their "allies" became enraged when they found the "ambassadors" were looting local graveyards, not for valuables, but for bones. Today, the Death Dealers pursue their own ends.

Structure

A common saying among the Death Dealers is, "One For Each Island." The rumor is that the Death Dealers have at least one member from each of the islands in the Nomani Archipelago, and since nobody knows how many islands there are... it is widely believed there are millions of Death Dealers, though no one can point one out.
The various islands send budding necromancers and prospective members to the Academy of Bones where the cadet undergoes rigorous training and testing for four months. Cadets are between the ages of 10 and 12, or the equivalent. Only 1 in 5 pass these trials.
Those who pass spend the next eight months going through "bootcamp." A difficult test of skill, creativity and physical ability. It is a grueling process that tests the limits of the cadet. At the end of their first year, those cadets who do not choose to leave, become a koa - an acolyte. Koa's undergo extensive training in diplomacy, combat, religious study and necromancy. When the prospect reaches adulthood the koa is sent on their first mission, should the koa return they become a Death Dealer, and gain their longcoat.
The most talented of the Death Dealers may choose to retire from the field and become a Master to teach at the Academy of Bones. Among the Masters Council one is deemed the Grandmaster. The Grandmaster directs the actions of the Death Dealers and assign missions.
