Ankheg

The Ankheg is a monstrous, subterranean insectoid creature known for its immense size and predatory nature. Resembling a nightmarish fusion of insect and arachnid, the Ankheg has a massive, segmented body covered in chitinous armor that ranges in color from earthy browns to mottled greens. It has powerful mandibles designed for crushing and shredding prey, and its legs are equipped with sharp, serrated edges that allow it to burrow through the earth with ease. The most distinctive feature of the Ankheg is its enormous, tube-like head, which houses a set of powerful acid-spewing glands that enable it to dissolve and consume its victims.
