Cockatrice

The cockatrice is a bizarre and fearsome creature, a result of unnatural and magical experiments gone awry. It resembles a grotesque hybrid of a rooster and a serpent, with the body of a chicken, scaly reptilian legs, and a long, serpentine tail. Its head is crowned with a rooster's comb and beak, but its eyes are menacing and malevolent, capable of turning its victims to stone with a single gaze.
