Lueven

The monks rule the country by a council of monks as there was no king to take over the lands. The people live in peace, thanks to the light of the Sunlord and the monastic order of Order of Sun Palm. Many young people of the country would learn the monk ways and while they never become full-fledged monks, the religion of the Sunlord is ingrained in their culture.   History The Duchy of Leuven was in dire need during the Post-Calamity Era of the Fifth Age, Current Age. The people were abandoned by their rulers, seeking better lands. Nearby monastic Order of Sun Palm were able to survive thanks to their training. While there were a lot of people they couldn't help, there was enough who stayed behind, while the rest left the region. When the Post-Calamity Era ended, the people were grateful and the monastery would gain tremendous numbers over the generations. The monks didn't need influence, it was given to them by grateful people of the lost duchy. Many more orders would be created in these lands and the villages would go to the monks for help in securing the area. Over time, the monks went from recluse agents of the light to the bearers of the crown.
