Gnome

Gnomes are short humanoids, typically standing around 1 meter in height. They tend to be lean and have pointed teeth and fingers. Gnomes are extremely curious by nature, and often put off other races, as their interest in a new species of butterfly is just as great as their interest in a new method of torture; they are simply interested in everything. However, this is by necessity, as Gnomes that do not continue to have new experiences begin to experience the effects of Bleaching.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Their skin, hair, and eyes can run the complete gamut of colors that appear in nature, betraying their fey nature like no other characteristic. Many, though not all, have skin tones that match those of other humanoids who live in the region, often with tints of olive or gold. Their hair in particular is often vibrantly colored; expressing their recent history and experiences in reds, greens and more, as often (if not more so) than browns and blonds.

Genetics and Reproduction

Gnomes are distantly related to the Fey. As a result, Half-Gnomes are nearly unheard of; they are simply genetically incompatible with nearly all other races.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Due to the inconsistant lighting of their homeworld the Fey Sphere, Gnomes have developed vision better than that of Humans, and can usually see roughly twice as far in dim light.

Naming Traditions

Gnome names can be as odd and nonsensical as the gnomes themselves. The names vary greatly in length and pronunciation as some full names are a mere 2 syllables long while others are 6 or more syllables long and full of consonants and vowel pairings. There isn't a huge difference between male and female names, although female names do tend to have shorter names more often and they have more softer elements in general, but many names could be considered unisex.
