Festival of Aozruleh (ae-ohz-RUE-leh)
While The Faith of the Star-Eyed has fallen out of common practice in modern Garruw society, most of them still tend to keep the festivals associated with that pantheon. In particular, the Festival of Aozruleh is a popular one that has stood the test of time.
History
Aozruleh was one of the chief deities of the Star-Eyed. She was the goddess of the nebula just beyond the solar system, and of patience and exploration. Her role was to exist beyond the Garruw's reach, as something to strive for.
Her festival came at a point during the year when the nebula was most clearly visible, during Falling Storm. In keeping with her role as goddess of patience, the festival is meant to be a reward for outlasting the worst of the winds.
Execution
The modern version of the festival features nebula viewing parties, with upper class Garruw showing off their best telescopes and star maps. And even if someone doesn't attend the more public celebrations, there's always a feast, as a kind of reward for keeping safe through the storms.
The public parts of the festival are a series of competitions. What kind of competitions varies from place to place, but they tend to feature patience, as might be guessed. Tournaments of balance and stamina are common, like who could balance on their head the longest, or who can remain steady in a breeze for the longest. Gardening competitions are also popular, with people eager to show off the things that they have spent at least a year growing, and preserving from the storms.
