Jabin Claes' Sword

The sword must have belonged to others long before Jabin Claes. In fact, it is thought that this particular weapon was forged in the earliest of days after Tholaren Dome was founded, while the secrets of outside technology had not yet been lost, and they still knew how to make full use of the powers they had.   But this particular sword is noted for its last owner, the unfortunate and possibly mad Jabin.

Appearance

The sword itself is rather ornate, in keeping with the customs of the Dome, which take weapons that have existed for a long time and continually add decorative details to them as they are passed from owner to owner.   This particular sword is of an average-to-long length for a sword, is rather broad of blade, and has a golden hilt. The blade is a deep blue steel color, engraved with a number of intricate patterns.

Powers

The sword can discharge a significant energy blast when properly charged up, and it charges by absorbing the ambient energy in an area. It is unique in this effect, in that most such weapons that were designed to do this were repurposed since, or else designed on a different track.

History, in brief

The sword was crafted after the Dome, going by the composition of the materials used and certain rough edges about the manufacturing. However, the precision of the nanotechnology involved in its inner workings would indicate that it was no more than one generation after the Dome was created.   The sword was used, like its kind, to defend against the occasional attack from the outside, and on those rare occasions, to defend from rebellion within. Eventually it became common practice to hand such weapons down through a named line (father to son and mother to daughter, in keeping with the passing on of last names. This sword came down through the Claes line.   It was lost in about 900 P/DE when Jabin Claes took the sword with him on his mad quest to find some lost secret of the Dome that he claimed to have discovered.
