Skyrider

Skyriders are used by human thrill-seekers. Not a terribly common pursuit, and generally frowned on as something incredibly reckless, but since there are those careers that require piloting skills, it's allowed.
It looks a bit like a large silver canoe. Cramped inside for more than one person, but it is possible to fit as many as three.
It's used for missions on the surface that require speed. Not within the Dome itself, because its maneuverability is somewhat lessened in close quarters, but for soaring along the plains, it's perfect. They fly fairly high if the pilot is willing to push it, and at max speed it can rival a Garruw in full flight.
There are not many instances that require the use of a skyrider over another safer vehicle, so while they are kept in good repair, they are not used frequently. Particularly since it is doubly dangerous to use one in one of Thaiterra's frequent electrical storms, as such a small, light vehicle.
Those who use them are required to train extensively on pretty much every other type of vehicle first, the idea being that hopefully they'll find something more practical and better suited to sustaining life.
Yeah, a couple of people have died using one. It happens. Skyriders are not the safest kind of vehicle you could get. But they're fun. For a time, learning how to fly one was a rite of passage, but that changed and now it's deemed excessive, but fun.
Dangerous behavior aside, most people smile when they see someone flying through the air at top speed, whooping and hollering.

Expensive and difficult to make, so a very high price
