Weinadi
One of the three sapient species of Thaiterra, the Weinadi are the least technologically advanced. Historically, they were the prey of the Garruw, and while this is not common anymore, it has naturally led to a lot of bad blood. In large part, they stay beneath the surface in the modern era, building increasingly magnificent cities in caverns and chasms.
Basic Information
Anatomy
A fully grown Weinadi is typically about 10-12 feet tall. Two arms, two legs. 12 fingers, 12 toes. Claws. No tail. Broad frame.
Genetics and Reproduction
They are mammals. Pregnancies take about 200 days (to compare, based on Thaiterra's day cycle, a human pregnancy would be about 170 days). A baby would be the size of the average human 6-month-old, which is pretty tiny compared to their eventual size.
Biological Cycle
They shed their topcoat of fur in the summer. The cast off is usually saved and spun into cloth. The purpose of the cloth depends on the lifestyle of the person the hair came from.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
All over, mainly below the surface
Average Intelligence
High. Now they've gone underground and the Garruw don't hunt them as much, they're developing quickly.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Their hearing is more precise than a human's would be, but otherwise the sensory capabilities are comparable.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
First names typically come first. Last names come from a variety of sources, depending on region and ethnic custom. It can be a family or tribe name, place name, or even an organization like the military or an academy. For things like that last point, it is typically added on at the end of the longer formal name, and used as the dominant last name in less formal situations.
Between first and last names comes a small non-capitalized word meaning something like "of the". For example, in Dheizeiian , this would be ele.
Average Technological Level
As of 1000 P/DE, they are in the rough equivalent of the Industrial Revolution.
Common Dress Code
They wear clothes, not for modesty but to serve a function. Like a coat, or a belt, or a shirt designed as a carrying pouch for a baby.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
The Garruw used to eat them, so relations aren't great, but the Asayo-Djemndarra Accords have largely kept the peace so there's not open war.
Humans they don't really care about much. They only show up in one region and within that region typically stay to themselves. More of a mystery than anything.
Lifespan
60 years (~138 earth years)
Average Height
10-12 feet.
Average Weight
600 lbs? I dunno. They're pretty hefty for their height.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Fur is typically white or gray, with some more blue and green tints mixed in. There are a few with brown/black, but this is a recessive gene.
