Niphena - Goddess of Magic

Niphena is one of the major gods in the pantheon of The Broken World, she is goddess of magic.
Niphena was born out of the cosmic magic of the universe, the raw energy floating around colliding with itself sparked the creation of this being. She was there in the very early stages of the creation of the universe, and saw the night sky itself being lit up by stars.
She was the one that created magic in the universe, wove the first spells that was ever used and created the rules for which magic abide by.
For the mortals of the world, they know her as the guardian of magic. She safeguards the arcane knowledge and mystics of the universe. She balances the scales of magical forces and ensures that everything works as she has intended it to do.
It is said that the first spell-book ever written was authored by Niphena herself, and the legend of this spell-book is told even to this day. Many people have attempted to find it, but to this day it has yet to be found if it even exists.
Many mages and archmages views the goddess as their mentor, and some of the greatest and brightest minds within the arcane has claimed that she appeared before them and bestowed knowledge on them. Some of the people which claims this happened later grew into legendary archmages with immense magical potency.
Niphena herself has a very neutral stance on the world and mainly attempts to maintain the magical balance that she has worked hard to create. Her domain is the one of knowledge, and her followers has created a symbol for her which they wear. The symbol is a flying book with its pages open upward, and the cover facing downwards often depicted with a glowing aura.

Niphena herself is often depicted as a very regal and ethereal elven woman with long flowing black hair that almost seem to shimmer with the lights of the stars. Her eyes piercing and full of understanding, and she is often portrayed holding a glowing sphere of crystal in one hand.

Teachings of Niphena

Niphenas followers revere, study and practice magic and they consider it their most sacred pursuit in their life. The idea that anyone should be able to pursuit knowledge, exploration of the arcane and using magic is something anyone should be able to do if they wishes so, is close to the Niphena followers hearts.

Festivals

There are many ways which Niphena gets worshiped and celebrated, but mainly it involves some kind of show of magical powers, exhibitions of magic and magical items and a place for people to trade knowledge with each other.

Through the time Niphena has been active, her magical essence has sparked the creation of some lesser gods which walks the cosmos as well.
Sophrana, Goddess of Wisdom When Niphena first used magic, a droplet of pure energy sparked the creation of Sophrana. She became a close ally with Niphena, helping out with providing her with knowledge of the world and how things work.
Artura, Goddess of Creativity
Artura got birthed in a nebula out in the wide cosmos during a surge of creativity from Niphena, as she was casting wild magic some of it managed to form into a being. Artura isn't that close of an ally with Niphena, but they still work together on some creative matters of the world.
Verduum, God of Time
During the earliest of time, Niphena was busy weaving magic in hope of manipulating the cosmos but instead caused a temporal rift which birthed Verduum. Coming out of a temporal rift, Verduum now embodies time itself, the cycle of the ages and the secrets of the past and future.
While being created from Niphena, Verduum works on his own for most of the time. However he shares a mutual bond of respect for the greater god that created him.
