Viglodar

Viglodar is a dwarven city located in the southwest parts of Cannia. The entrance is in the Toothy Spires, with the town of Cairn’s Gate situated just outside the dwarven gates.
The city is currently ruled by Queen Astrid Linebreaker, the 12th monarch from the Linebreaker royal line. She has been in power for 130 years. To aid in the decisions of the monarchs, the Bearded Council assists her with six different advisors: the Red Beards, the Black Beards, the White Beards, the Brown Beards, the Grey Beards, and the Gold Beards.
Viglodar remains closed off from the rest of Etheron Luth and the world. Few non-dwarves live inside the mountain home. Only residents or descendants of those who have done the dwarves a great favor are welcome to stay in the city. Trade with the outside world happens through merchants who leave the gates, accompanied by heavy guards, and are escorted to Cairn’s Gate just outside. All trading with the rest of Etheron Luth occurs here.
The city is divided into several districts:
• Topaz District: The area where poorer citizens live.
• Iron District: The district where craftsmen have their shops.
• Ruby District: Home to most of the noble houses of Viglodar.
• Diamond District: The location of the royal palace.
• The Caves Beneath: Ever-expanding caves underneath Viglodar, which are being stripped of ore and valuable stones.

Religion In Viglodar, the main gods worshipped are Furnark, the god of craftsmanship, and Bamis, the god of strength. Queen Astrid has tried to promote Vereena, the goddess of loyalty, to inspire the noble houses to follow her rule, but this effort has had limited success. While there are temples for other gods, some deities are outright banned. Iglari, the goddess of torture, and Bargur, the god of beasts, are not welcome in Viglodar.

Noble Houses

Several noble houses hold power and influence in Viglodar. They reside in the Ruby District and each has its own ambitions and goals.
  House Copperforge
Head: Burag Copperforge
Role: Holds the position of Red Beard on the Bearded Council, responsible for military affairs. The family is known for its martial tradition, with all members training in the art of warfare from a young age.
  House Silvervein
Head: Brynna Silvervein
Role: Controls rich silver mines beneath the city and is one of the wealthiest houses. They are known for hoarding resources and manipulating trade. Brynna has a secret ambition to replace the Linebreaker dynasty.
  House Oaktank
Head: Arrurim Oaktank
Role: Operates the most famous alehouses in Viglodar, brewing the best ales in the city. Their wealth and influence over the common folk are significant, but the house has become stagnant and uninterested in further growth.
  House Greyshoulder
Head: Nekkok Greyshoulder
Role: Has a sinister reputation for extortion and other dubious activities, though nothing has been proven. There are rumors of their involvement in necromantic magic, which is taboo in Viglodar, where honorable deaths are important.
  House Blackbane
Head: Barlinn Blackbane
Role: Loyal to the Linebreaker dynasty since the city's founding. A Blackbane traditionally holds the position of Grey Beard, acting as the political advisor on the Bearded Council. Barlinn is close to Queen Astrid, having grown up together.
  House Mithrilhead
Head: Hjalrik Mithrilhead
Role: The main supplier of mithril in Viglodar, operating forges and crafting stations across the Iron District. They are wealthy and have produced many fine ceremonial items for the royal line.
Former Noble Houses These houses have lost their influence and now harbor resentment towards the crown. They are currently disloyal to the Linebreaker dynasty:
  House Bloodstone
House Stonebreaker
House Lavadiver
